Here are 9 questions corporate leaders consider before agreeing to a new project.
Advantages and disadvantages of. the project. Who will benefit from it? Is the project worth the effort and risk?
Financial: What are the costs?Do we have the capital for it? If not can we get it?
Economic impact? Will this putpeope to work, bring in business in our or other local businesses or our industry, bring tourists here? Will it bring in tax revenues?
Is this proposal fully legal and in code? Will it still be lrgal in view in view of pending legal changes when it is completed?
.Ethical: If this project were on the front pages of tge newspaper, would it bring pride or shame to us?
Ecology: What would the impact of this be on the environment, considering wetlands, any unexpected creek discharge, noise, air and water pollution, and other issues?
Health: Are the raw materials toxic to our health or that of our neighbors'.? If it is questionable, would we be liable later or for any recalls?
Temporal: How much time would this require of our empployees? Would we need to scale back on other projects, hire new staff or contractors, or do this in addition to our current workload?
Will this project enhance the mission of our company, or will it be a distraction? Will it help us meet our goals?
